The creation of Yambé for the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ) was made possible with the support of The Lane Series at University of Vermont in Burlington, VT The Tisch Center at the 92nd St Y in NYC The Soka Performing Arts Center in Aliso Viejo, CA through the International Arts Foundation, Inc

It is an evocative celebration of all aspects of the Afro-Cuban tradition: from the Coro-Pregon (Call and Response) aspect of the singing, to the varied Guaguanco and Bata rhythmic patterns performed on the guitars. This piece attempts to bring the world of Afro-Cuban music to a broader classical audience.
